PRAISE GOD
I want to give praise to God and an update on my good friend Sarah. As you know, from my previous blog entry, Sarah went to Sloan-Kettering, in NYC, after Christmas to see if there were any more options for her brain tumors after exhausting all other options locally. On Sunday, December 21st, several friends, family, and church family met at Sarah's house where we shared in a special time for prayer for Sarah and her family. Sarah had a time of devotion and it touched me in a special way. Others prayed and we ended in a song. I felt God's presence there and it felt as if he had his arms wrapped around us all! I'm a strong believer in prayer and Sarah is proof of it for sure!
After her visit to Sloan-Kettering on the 30th, she was given four different options.
1. Vaston, a new chemo drug for the brain mets, in its final stages of approval by the FDA.
2. Methotrexate-would require 5 treatments with a week's hospitalization each time.
3. A clinical trial at Sloan-Kettering, which she would have to be on site at their facility to participate.
4. Surgery
I cried happy tears of joy when I got the good news email after her doctors appointment! All I could say was PRAISE GOD!!!
Sarah has decided to start with the chemo treatments. She first will be having several scans done and then they will go from there. Please continue to keep Sarah and her family in your daily prayers!
